A Legacy in the Dirt World
Fate Lawing was operating equipment with his father before he could legally drive a car. Many of his earliest memories are spending time on construction sites with his father and grandfather. A career anywhere other than the dirt world was never even a thought. Fate has spent more than 30 years, operating equipment and overseeing project for various companies throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.
In 2019, Fate and his wife Kristi set out on their own and founded Sugarhill Contractors. Deep connections and a strong reputation of providing quality work has allowed them to experience tremendous growth in just a few short years. As acting CEO, Kristi presides over the office staff, payroll and administrative side while Fate, as President, oversees crews and projects in the field. This partnership has allowed Sugarhill Contractors to maintain minority owned status as a premier commercial and residential site work provider in North and South Carolina.
